Across Australia, Greening Australia has a pipeline of shovel-ready restoration projects that are approved, designed and ready to proceed.

Delivery partners are in place. The science is done. What’s needed now is capital to activate on-ground outcomes for nature, land productivity and resilience.

Not all critical restoration work can be funded through carbon markets. Across Australia, high-value projects focused on biodiversity, waterways, soils and habitat remain unfunded despite being ready to proceed. Below is a snapshot of priority projects seeking funding outlining the types of restoration work ready to be delivered and the outcomes that investment would enable.

New South Wales

River systems, bushland and urban restoration

Your support could enable the delivery of projects focused on river flat forests, remnant bushland and urban green spaces in high-pressure landscapes.

Funding would activate restoration of River Flat Eucalypt communities, enhancement of bushland in metropolitan reserves, and targeted revegetation to reconnect fragmented ecosystems and strengthen ecological function.

Outcomes this funding enables

    • Improved waterway stability and reduced erosion

    • Increased native vegetation cover and habitat quality

    • Stronger biodiversity connectivity across urban landscapes

Centennial Parklands Restoration

This project builds on earlier restoration works at Centennial Parklands by planting native grasses and groundcover species into established areas. The work strengthens biodiversity outcomes, improves soil condition and enhances habitat quality within a highly visited urban landscape.

Yaralla Estate Bushland Restoration

Restoration of Sydney Turpentine–Ironbark Forest and Swamp Oak Floodplain Forest communities to improve ecological connectivity across fragmented urban bushland. The project focuses on rebuilding understorey diversity and long-term habitat value.

Victoria

Grasslands, wetlands and biodiversity corridors

Victoria’s pipeline includes shovel-ready grassland and wetland projects designed to recover threatened ecological communities and strengthen biodiversity corridors across modified landscapes.

Outcomes this funding enables

  • Recovery of threatened vegetation communities

  • Improved habitat complexity for native fauna

  • Greater landscape resilience under climate pressure

Return of the Dancing Trees — East Gippsland

Support cultural renewal and revegetation on Indigenous-owned land by restoring native pine species and expanding nursery capacity for future works.
