Sian is a proud Walman-Jano woman of the Yawuru language group. Sian currently lives on Gadubanud Country in Victoria and connects to her culture through her art.

Sian’s background is in environmental science and commerce, specialising in marketing science, environmental remediation, and land management. She also has extensive sporting experience in both playing and coaching roles, having represented Australia in World University Games for 3×3 basketball and playing NBL1 basketball in Victoria. Sian also has extensive experience working with and mentoring youths having coached basketball for 10 years.

Sian is passionate about utilising First Nations’ knowledge and culture to implement holistic solutions to the climate crisis and other environmental challenges. She believes that First Nations people offer unique and invaluable skills and insight for addressing the rapid environmental degradation currently occurring in Australia.

While Sian continues to listen to and learn from her Elders, she is keen to engage with and give back to her community however she can.
