Midlands Arboretum Opening

Greening Australia is working with local schools and community to establish an ‘arboretum’ style outdoor classroom, in partnership with the von Bibra family in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania. The project is funded by the JM Roberts Charitable Trust. We envision a space where people can visit, walk on Country and learn about the incredible biodiversity and cultural heritage of the Midlands.
The opening event will provide:

  • an engaging and educational nature experience
  • opportunity to learn about habitat restoration and the Midlands Biodiversity Hotspot
  • opportunity for teachers to learn about the resource available to them for science excursions
  • opportunity to talk to Greening Australia staff, Tasmanian Aboriginal people, landholders and scientists (attendees to be confirmed)
  • opportunity to learn about wildlife monitoring research

We welcome anyone in the community who would like to come for a chat and walk on Country to attend. Teachers are welcome to bring students and stay longer by communication with Greening Australia.

Please check the event program for more details and how to RSVP.
