Nindethana, a Greening Australia company, sources and sells the largest range of high-quality native seed in Australia, harvested from diverse regions across the country, to power restoration success.

We draw on over 70 years of experience to provide expert advice and service to customers and native seed suppliers. We’re also working within the wider restoration industry to grow the Australian native seed sector, ensuring a sustainable seed supply to support Australia’s unique biodiversity for future generations.

About the Role

We are seeking a Seed Officer to provide exceptional customer service, sales support, order processing and inventory management in Menang Country.
The position is accountable for administrative and technical support of Nindethana’s customers and general business operations. You will work within a team environment based at our office/storage facility in Albany.

Key Activities

    • Respond promptly and professionally to customer queries and orders via phone and email
    • Provide practical advice to customers in relation to seed enquiries
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with new and existing customers
    • Assist with resolving customer complaints
    • Assist with the scoping and delivery of customer orders:
      o Species selection
      o Problem solving and advice
      o Stock selection, quoting and re-ordering
      o Seed pre-treatments, cleaning, testing
      o Order packaging, dispatch and invoicing
    • Contribute to processing seed receivals, applying quality control processes with all seed stock
    • Contribute to data and record keeping within inventory system
    • Accurately cost and price customer quotes/orders, generate invoices and process payments
    • Assist other Nindethana staff across relevant areas as required
    • Understand and correctly apply the Company’s Health and Safety Policy, Standards, Procedures and training and ensure they are complied with.

About You

The Essentials:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a clear and respectful phone manner
  • Demonstrated sales and customer service experience
  • Strong administrative abilities, including data entry and management
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on addressing and resolving customer concerns
  • Comfortable working in a small team environment, with a willingness to support broader tasks when needed and take initiative where appropriate
  • Ability to follow established processes while managing tasks independently and adapting to shifting priorities when needed
  • Confident using IT systems such as Microsoft Office (including Excel and Word), with a willingness and ability to learn new platforms, including our business management system (Microsoft Business Central)

The Nice to Haves:

  • Experience in native seed, nursery, ecology or similar
  • Qualification in horticulture, conservation and land management, or bush regeneration
  • Experience with native vegetation management and revegetation
  • Technical knowledge of native plant propagation
  • Technical knowledge of seed cleaning, processing and storage
