About the Role

Greening Australia is looking for multiple Nursery Attendants to support the day to day operation of our nursery in West Coolup.

This is a hands on, 6 month casual role commencing in May, working Monday to Friday, suited to someone who enjoys practical outdoor work, has an interest in plants, and takes pride in keeping things organised, safe and running smoothly.

Working under the direction of the Nursery Manager, you’ll support the production of healthy, high quality plants for restoration programs. You’ll be involved in all aspects of nursery work — from propagation through to plant care and preparing plants for delivery.

Plant Propagation and Care

  • Seed preparation, sowing and potting
  • Watering, fertilising and general plant care
  • Monitoring plant health and reporting any issues
  • Transplanting and moving plants within the nursery

Nursery Operations

  • Supporting day to day nursery activities
  • Preparing plants for dispatch to restoration projects
  • Receiving plant deliveries and supplies
  • Keeping the nursery clean, organised and running smoothly

Maintenance and Upkeep

  • Assisting with irrigation systems, shade structures and growing areas
  • Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
  • Organising stock and materials

Safety and Team Support

  • Following WHS procedures and safe work practices
  • Using equipment safely and reporting hazards
  • Contributing to a safe, positive team environment
  • Supporting the team to meet production and delivery schedules

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys practical, hands on work (this is a physical, outdoor role)
  • Has an interest in plants, horticulture or environmental work
  • Works well in a team and follows direction
  • Takes care and pride in their work
  • Has good attention to detail

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Experience in a nursery, horticulture or similar environment
  • Study or qualification in horticulture or environmental management
  • Familiarity with native plants
