Employment type: Full-time (8-month maximum term contract)

Salary range: $130k + 13.25% super

Help shape financial integrity and reporting accuracy across Greening Australia. As a senior member of the Finance Team, you’ll play a critical role in delivering timely and accurate financial information to support decision-making and drive performance across the group.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Group Accountant to lead group wide financial reporting and compliance, maintain internal controls, and support performance and strategic planning within the Finance function.

Reporting to the Financial Controller and collaborating closely with the CFO, Senior Finance Business Partners, and Executive Leadership Team, you’ll ensure accurate reporting, maintain robust financial systems, and support audit, tax, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Activities

    • Lead Monthly Group Financial Reporting: Own and manage the full monthly reporting cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Maintain Financial Records & Controls: Safeguard quality work papers and financial documentation, including GL reconciliations, inventory, and asset counts.
    • Ensure Compliance & Governance: Uphold a robust internal control framework and ensure adherence to finance policies, accounting standards, and regulations.
    • Support Annual Reporting & Audit: Assist with preparation of consolidated financial statements and lead the delivery of external audit requirements.
    • Manage Core Accounting Operations: Oversee daily finance operations including accounts payable, receivable, and outsourced payroll provider.
    • Drive Process & Systems Improvement: Implement enhancements to financial processes and ERP systems for better efficiency and integrity.
    • Support Tax & Regulatory Filings: Assist with key tax compliance tasks including BAS, FBT, and transfer pricing.
    • Contribute to Strategic Finance Initiatives: Collaborate with senior leaders to promote financial performance, governance, and support strategic projects.

About You

The Essentials:

    • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce and CA/CPA qualified
    • Extensive experience in Financial Accounting or similar role
    • Solid experience in reporting, group consolidations, and compliance across multiple entities
    • Proven ability to improve financial performance and build balance sheet health
    • Experience implementing and reviewing financial systems and processes
    • Strong understanding of information systems and financial governance
    • Effective regulatory and policy interpretation
    • Confident working with senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders

The Nice to Haves:

  • Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central Systems
