Our Partners

Nature's Own

As part of their broader sustainability commitments to help make a difference for nature and people, Nature’s Own is partnering with Greening Australia to help bring nature back to urban spaces.

Through Greening Australia’s Nature in Cities program, the three year partnership will help restore natural ecosystems by establishing 25,000 native trees, shrubs and wildflowers across three major Australian cities. These biodiverse native plantings will increase habitat for wildlife, engage community members and build green corridors to create greener, more liveable cities where people and nature can thrive.

Nature’s Own is on mission to become more environmentally friendly. Visit their page Nature’s Own, For Nature For You to learn more about their sustainability efforts or keep reading to learn more about the Greening Australia projects we have partnered on.

In the first year of the partnership, Greening Australia completed plantings in the Field River region just outside Adelaide and in the Camden LGA in Western Sydney. Some highlights from these two projects include:

  • Establishing over 9,000 trees, wildflowers and grasses
  • Restoring approximately 12 hectares of land and creating habitat for local wildlife
  • Engaging with up to 450 community members
  • Creating beautiful green spaces for urban residents to enjoy

In the second year, the partnership expanded to support a project on Yuggera and Barunggam Country, delivered as part of the Resilient Rivers Initiative – a collaboration between local and state government to improve the health and resilience of Southeast Queensland’s water catchments and rivers. The vision is to restore the regional woodland ecosystem, providing habitat, whilst stabilising banks and reducing erosion, with the added benefit of improving water quality in the Lockyer Creek system. This will include plantings of the Endangered Forest Red Gum (Eucalyptus tereticornis).

It will also provide green spaces for urban residents to get outside and reconnect with nature.

So far, the project has established 9,000 plants over nine hectares of land, whilst getting the local community engaged and excited in re-greening their local area.

“Since 1975, Nature’s Own have been inspired by the power of nature to serve healthier fuller lives. The brand’s belief is, that nature looks after us and with our delicate ecosystems under more pressure than ever before, it’s time for us to give back to nature.

Together with Greening Australia, and through a long-term strategic partnership that aims to protect and re-green our urban areas, we will improve the health of our planet, educate local communities on sustainability, and raise awareness about the intricate relationship between environmental wellness and self-care.

While there is always more to be done on sustainability, our partnership with Greening Australia is the first step to not only making a tangible difference to local communities but actively giving back to help protect our planet for the generations to come.”
