NSW community volunteer program

In the last 12 months Greening Australia Volunteers in NSW contributed 4,224 hours to environmental projects – that’s over 80 hours a week.

What do they do in all this time? Propagating, potting, weeding, mulching, mowing, planting and socializing.

They also grew over 12,500 plants native to Sydney’s Cumberland Plain. These plants have all been donated to local schools, community groups, landcare groups, festival goers and participants in the Youth EcoSummit.

It’s a great example of community-minded people supporting community organisations to protect an endangered vegetation community!

From all of us to all of our volunteers – thank you very much for all your hard work and dedication.

If you’re interested in growing plants, planting trees and the occasional lunch-time BBQ with like-minded people we’d love to hear from you. Come and join our fantastic team of volunteers.
