Help install native plants along Field River to create richer habitat for local wildlife

The Trott Park Community Centre provides a vibrant community hub for City of Marion residents. It is also an important open space with opportunities for environmental restoration and recreation in nature.

In collaboration with the City of Marion, National Parks and Wildlife Services SA, Green Adelaide, the Kaurna People and the local community, we will be planting local native species on Kaurna land within the creekline behind the centre to re-create suitable habitat for threatened species. This will help reduce immediate extinction risks and improve the long-term viability of threatened species and ecological communities such as the yellowish sedge-skipper. These threatened species do more for us than just add colour and beauty to the landscapes but act as native pollinators and are an essential building block of a healthy environment.

When: Sunday 14 June, 9:30am – 12:30pm
Where: Trott Park Community Centre, Trott Park
