Hugh joined Greening Australia in 2014 and during that time has led operational teams and government relations before taking on the strategy portfolio for the organisation. Hugh’s extensive career in the environment sector has included over twenty-five years in the UK and Australia in both the government and not for profit sectors. With skills in environmental policy, relationship management, business development and strategic development, Hugh brings a wide range of capabilities to Greening Australia.

Hugh’s drive and passion to work at Greening Australia are due to the huge opportunity to make a difference with an organisation focused on real demonstrable practical action to restore Australia’s damaged landscapes.  The challenges and impacts that society has had on the environment are huge and to address these and to conserve our unique plants and animals we need to operate at scale in partnership with communities across Australia

In his spare time, Hugh can be found exploring the waters of Port Phillip Bay sailing his dinghy and snorkelling.
