Tree Planting Day at TYTO Wetlands

Hinchinbrook Shire Council and Greening Australia are teaming up to plant 1,500 native trees on Friday 7 November 2025 — and we want YOU to help.

We’re restoring an area overrun by pesky parra grass, which stops native plants from growing.

By planting local trees, we’ll help shade out the grass and create a safe home for TYTO Wetlands’ amazing birds and wildlife.

When: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM (Meet at 8:45 AM)
Where: Participants are to meet at the council car park near the entrance to the TYTO Wetlands walking track, located at the end of Coopers Street, Ingham.
Bonus: Free sausage sizzle at noon!

Bring covered shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and water. It’s a fun way to make a real difference for our environment — and meet others who care about nature too!

Register by calling 4776 4600.
