This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, strategic and dynamic technical person to join our team and work with us as we lead a new era of conservation action through integrated, science-based planning for ecological restoration, regenerative agriculture, and climate change adaptation.
At Greening Australia, we believe that people thrive when nature thrives. We are an environmental enterprise that thinks big to tackle the challenges facing Australia’s unique and diverse landscapes in ways that work for communities, economies and nature. By restoring Australia’s fragile and diverse ecosystems and habitat, we restore local economies with them, helping to create healthy, productive landscapes where people and nature can thrive.
We work to solve bold and complex environmental problems through conservation on a massive scale, with programs and projects covering millions of hectares of land and protecting hundreds of native species. With teams in 30 locations around the country and more than 150 knowledgeable and expert staff, we are having a measurable and lasting impact on Australia’s unique environment through our programs, services and partnerships.
To maximise our impact between now and 2030 we are focusing our efforts on delivering five key programs in partnership with thousands of landholders, partners and businesses across Australia – enabling us to achieve far more than we could alone.
This role will be embedded within our Great Southern Landscapes program where we are working with thousands of landholders and partners to create Australia’s biggest carbon sink and establish one million hectares of habitat across southern Australia.
You will join our team as we scale up our efforts to restore and manage habitat, implement regenerative agriculture solutions and mitigate and adapt to a rapidly changing climate.
Your role as a motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Technical Lead will be to apply your expertise in conservation, biodiversity offsets and ecological restoration to complex problems and projects. You will undertake planning and analyses, work with community, clients and partners, and find innovative solutions to guide on-ground action and increase our conservation impact.
You will work across a range of national Greening Australia programs including Great Southern Landscapes and Thriving on Country and will have the opportunity to work across a diversity of landscapes nationally, with an emphasis on Western Australia (ie ranging from South Coast to the Pilbara).
You are action orientated, have a strong sense of sustainability and environmental ethics and a proven track record implementing holistic solutions across the corporate sector, government, natural resource management and other sectors.
This represents an outstanding opportunity for you to join one of the key organisations focused on one of Australia’s greatest environmental challenges. You will work across our national Great Southern Landscapes program, spanning from south-west Western Australia across SA and Victoria to include ACT, NSW and Tasmania.
