Greening Australia is Australia’s largest environmental enterprise. We tackle Australia’s biggest environmental challenges with the best science and the best people, who work with communities to return life to landscapes. From restoring Tasmania as an island ark, extensive regeneration activities across the southern Australia agricultural belt, to improving the health of the Great Barrier Reef, we are working to create healthy, productive landscapes across the country. With 120 staff in 25 different locations, we conduct a variety of work ranging from large scale restoration projects to endangered species monitoring.  

About the role

To reflect our changing business model a Relationship Management position has been created.  You will work with some of Australia’s largest companies to grow the number of Greening Australia’s products that they utilise. These include:

  • large scale restoration and associated management services
  • biodiversity offsetting
  • carbon farming
  • seed
  • mine site rehabilitation
  • capacity building

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Relationship Manager to showcase their skills with your contribution playing a significant role in the long term success of Greening Australia.

The role reports to the Director, Commercial Development.

A Melbourne based position is preferred, but Sydney and Canberra based applicants may also be considered.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have at least 10 years relevant experience and demonstrate the following specific and quantifiable skills:

1.   Customer Management

  • Detailed Customer Management plans developed for all customers managed.
  • Over achievement of annual business targets that result from these plans
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of tenders and proposals within our target market
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to pursue growth opportunities and advance GA’s interests.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills

2.   Financial Management

  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting ensuring the achievement of annual budget’s
  • Identification of revenue shortfalls and leading local actions to build the funding pipeline/fill the gap

3.   Leadership, team work and engagement

  • An ability to influence people across the organisation
  • Demonstrated evidence of growing people
  • Problem solving and analytical skills

Experience in either the environmental or not for profit sector is preferred but not essential
