Operations Lead - Victoria/Tasmania

Location: Melbourne preferred

Salary range: $90,000 – $110,000

Contract: Full Time

We are looking for an experienced environmental leader to join our team as we work with some of Australia’s largest companies to tackle their environmental and social impact challenges.

About your role:

As Operations Lead you will guide both the Victorian and Tasmanian teams through the design, delivery and monitoring phases of a range of programs with our customers who come from the commercial and government sectors of Victoria and Tasmania.

You are the type of person who is action orientated, has a strong sense of leadership and a proven track record of implementing environmental projects. This position is for people who are ready to make a difference.

Requirements to be successful 

  • Minimum ten years industry and/or consulting experience in environmental management 
  • Tertiary degree qualified in biology, ecology, environmental science/management or similar 
  • Post-graduate degree in a relevant field preferred 
  • Willingness to travel
  • Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence

Operational management 

  • Demonstrated safety leadership  
  • Demonstrated experience in the management and implementation of large and/or complex restoration/rehabilitation 
  • Proven project and contract management skills
  • Successful service delivery of contracts 

Business development 

  • High-level experience in proposal development and tender submission writing 
  • Developing commercial partnerships and delivery of large-scale environmental projects > $2M 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and liaison with customers and partners, including the mining and infrastructure sectors, local and state government and relevant consultants/researchers

Financial management 

  • Budget and resource planning 
  • Preparation of cost estimates  
  • Finance tracking, analysis and cost improvement

Leadership, teamwork and engagement 

  • Showing passion for and commitment to the job at hand 
  • Effective, collaborative communication and leadership 
  • Drive change management 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills in establishing, developing and maintaining relationships and working partnerships
