Environmental Data and Technology Officer (Graduate Position)

Location: Adelaide

Salary Range (Level 2): $44,850 – $53,709 per annum plus Super

Contract: Full Time, 2-Year Fixed Term

This graduate position represents an outstanding opportunity to join Greening Australia, the nation’s largest environmental restoration organisation, and help us address Australia’s greatest environmental challenges.

We are looking for a motivated environmental science graduate or similar to support the introduction of drone technology into Greening Australia and develop a national land restoration site database and impact reporting system. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping skills would also be an advantage.

About you:

You will join our team as we scale up our capacity to embed environmental data capture and new technology into large-scale land restoration programs. You will support the uptake of new technology and the collation of environmental data within Greening Australia with an initial focus on the delivery of drone trials, the development of a landholder portal and restoration site database and the collation of data for Greening Australia’s national impact reporting.


Key areas of accountability and outcomes include:

  • Assist with the scoping and delivery of projects related to new technology and environmental data capture including:
    – technical research
    – project delivery
    – monitoring and reporting
    – data input and reporting
    – liaison with external technical specialists and consultants
  • Maintain project reporting requirements as directed by Line Manager and/or Senior Program staff
  • Contribute to the scoping, set up and design of other environmental data and technology projects
  • Participate in collecting and recording project data using appropriate technology, including works undertaken, locations, and quantities, and provide regular reporting of project progress to supervisors
  • Contribute to Greening Australia’s strategic planning processes as required
  • Contribute to organisational media and communications tasks, including workshops and presentations.
