Agricultural Chemical Distributions Control (ACDC) Training

Under the Agricultural Chemical Distributions Control Act (ACDC) (1966) it is a legal requirement for commercial herbicide operators to possess an ACDC licence.

Greening Australia provides training to meet these requirements through its ACDC training workshops. The course provides chemical users with the knowledge and skills to:

  • identify and assess weed infestations
  • adopt an effective and cost efficient Integrated Pest Management Plan
  • apply, handle and transport chemicals safely with minimal risks to self, the environment and the community
  • achieve established national competencies for the safe use of chemicals necessary to qualify for a Commercial Operators Licence.

Specifics of the Package

Greening Australia’s ACDC course includes the delivery of nationally-recognised training from the Conservation and Land Management Training package. A statement of attainment for the following subjects will be provided to students upon successful completion of the assessments:

  • RTC 3401A - Control Weeds
  • RTC 3704A - Prepare and Apply Chemicals
  • RTC 3705A - Transport, Handle and Store Chemicals

This statement will allow participants to apply for a commercial operator’s licence through the Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries.

The training is delivered over 2-3 days and includes both theoretical and practical training and assessment by experienced trainers. Power Point presentations, student materials and printouts are included.
