This attracted many interested office-workers and school kids alike, all keen to get their hands dirty in the production of future restoration bombs. Joining a myriad of green-groups in the local festival, this activity again highlighted the role of GA as a ‘doer’ organisation.
Saturday saw an early fog clear quickly with the team backing-up to continue our efforts to transform the Cotter Catchment landscape after the wildfires of 2003. Over 100 volunteers contributed to the planting of a diversity of understorey and tree species. More than 2000 seedlings were installed, helping ensure the diverse restoration of forest community in this critical local water catchment.
This takes our input in the Cotter catchment to well over 38 000 for this year, and the vision of repairing that landscape a step closer to reality.
